About

The mission of the Telecommunications program is to prepare students for gainful employment in the Telecommunications field by providing students with the fundamental theories, principles, experiments and real world experiences in Telecommunications. Students learn through “hands-on” applications utilizing trainers and real-world projects. Telecommunications offers several certifications built on recognized industry standards. Students study copper and fiber optic based systems, along with telephony and cabling in the first trimester to prepare students to sit for C-TECH certifications. The second trimester concentrates on hardware, windows, MAC, and Linux, storage, networking, mobile devices, system management, implementation and file management utilizing Test-out to prepare students for CompTIA A+ certification. The last trimester, students study satellite fundamentals, residential electrical systems, audio-video, and security-surveillance with practical applications to prepare for SBCA and ETA STS certifications.
